Dear Rev. Yardy,
I have just returned from the north after the Easter Mela which began April 4 in Orissa
and ended April 25 in Rajasthan. It was a wonderful experience to see people of
different cultures and how they understand the resurrection of Jesus. I will be sending
some pictures . Thank you for providing for the Bibles. We were able to buy some 350 Bibles and give away to the new believers.
Here are pictures of the well at Haripur.
Haripur is a village of over 2000 people. Our church population is 110.
Bore Nayak has been serving here as the pastor.
2008 Persecution disrupted their meetings and scattered the people.
But now they have returned, and returned with greater confidence and zeal.
A strong non-Christian population in the village initially bristled over their home coming.
The Christian community was denied access to the village well. All this was happening
to show Christians were not wanted. In fact, this was one of the ploys of the miscreants
to drive Christians away, loot their properties and occupy their land and houses.
We want to thank you for helping us drill a well for the church at Haripur. The well provides
plenty of water and is even catering to the needs of the people of other faiths. Pastor Bore Nayak
has invited everyone who needs water to come to the well and collect water for free without
hesitation. This is truly a Friendship Well. This has brought the two conflcting communities closer.
The village elders were present at the well on the day of inauguration.
