Respected Sir,
Greetings to you from Umri.
Monsoon failed in India in 2009.Vidharbha which is in central India was hit hard.In umri and in surrounding villages there was only scant rain fall. Our water man was telling that unless it rains for 24 to 48 hours in catchment areas, the coming summer would be very difficult.
There was severe shortage in Umri.Summer came and the scorching heat   (45celsius)only added to our water  woes. The plumber who supplies water to hospital campus told that  water level in the well was going down rapidly and suggested  to give water only once in three days. It was very disturbing situation
I explained this problem to Bishop John and  to you Sir when I met you during board meeting and told you that I wanted to dig a bore well. You understood the gravity of the situation and promised to help. Bishop John also warned that even if we dug the bore well water is not always found. CCM pastor told us that thrice they tried to dig but did not find water.
An expert( who is not a geologist) was called and he went round the area and suggested a site just adjacent to new hospital building.Bore digging machine with men to do the job arrived on 7th April. We called local pastors ,elders and leaders  and prayed together earnestly and digging was started at 12noon .Till 6 P.M. it went on without a trace of water ..Only mud was coming out.
I went on telling them to go deeper.Rock struck and drilling was carried through rocks. At 375 feet, at twilight suddenly gush of water came . It was unbelievable and overwhelming sight.Soon the water cleared and clean water in good force was gushing out.We again gathered  together at the spot to offer thanks giving prayers. It was a very joyful event. It was very reassuring to realise that the Lord takes care of all our needs.Praise the Lord!!
